In 2023, visit the farm for cut-your-own trees the weekends of November 18-19 and November 24-26.

After finding the tree your heart desires, take a look at their gift shop, where you can choose a gift and ship it directly to your loved ones. The farm also offers plenty of beautiful centerpieces for $33. 

Garlands can also be found there, ranging between $33 and $50. The farm is also known for its handmade wreaths with fresh-cut evergreens to ensure the high quality of the product. The prices of the wreaths start at $33. 

2. C & J Christmas Trees 

Address: 1999 Brookshire Rd, Boone, NC 28607

Visit the magical C & J Christmas Tree Farm, which was the first Choose and Cut farm in Watauga County created in 1980 by Jeff Brown. The family farm grows the famous Fraser Firs from tabletop sizes to 9 feet tall.

The prices of the trees depend on their size but start at $10 a foot from base to tip. After picking the ideal tree, the farm offers to cut and bale it, after which they tie it onto your vehicle.

Don’t miss snacking on cotton candy, hotdogs, apple cider, hot chocolate, and more while picking out your Christmas decorations!

They also make their own wreaths available in different sizes. The prices of the wreaths vary, starting from $30. Plus, you’ll also find candy canes, crosses, and handmade bows to choose from.

3. Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm

4. Mehaffey Tree Farm

A family-owned farm located in Haywood County, Mehaffey Tree Farm has been raising and selling Fraser Fir trees since 1984.

On-site, you’ll find fresh Frasers in a variety of sizes from 4 feet to 10 feet tall. The farm is a wholesale business; however, they open it in November and December for Choose and Cut retail.

The farm has over 80 acres dedicated to growing the well-known Fraser Fir trees in various sizes from 3 feet to 12 feet in height. They operate as a Choose and Cut farm where people can stroll around and search for the perfect tree for their holiday season.

In 2023, head to the farm on November 24-26 or December 2-3 to snag your Christmas tree, and enjoy food, fun, and live music opening day.


8. Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm

Gather your loved ones for the ultimate experience at Cartner’s Christmas Farm. The farm operates as a Choose and Cut farm and takes pride in its quality Fraser Fir trees.

While you’re looking for the perfect tree, don’t pass the opportunity to take a look at their assorted wreaths and garlands. In addition, the farm is known for its quality and freshness, so finding the perfect tree is a must there.

For the 2023 season, they’ll be operating for the following dates: November 23-26 and December 2-3 from 9am – 5pm.

9. Bear Valley Farm

Bear Valley Farm has become part of a family tradition for many families in western North Carolina and is an easy day trip from Chattanooga, Charlotte, Asheville, and beyond.

10. Mistletoe Meadows Christmas Trees

Mistletoe Meadow Christmas Trees is a picturesque farm that offers Choose and Cut trees for your homes during the holiday season.

The farm mainly grows Fraser Fir trees but also has numerous White Pine, Blue Spruce, and Leyland Cypress trees.

As soon as you start your search, you’ll be provided with a tree tag and a measuring pole. When you find the perfect tree, farm staff will measure, cut, and bale it, after which they wrap it with netting and load it on your vehicle.

Prices of the tree range from $50 to $450 and up, depending on their size. The farm also offers pre-cut trees from some of the more hard-to-reach sections of the farm. The prices of pre-cut trees start at $20.

You can choose your perfect tree November 11-12 or November 18-26, 2023, from 9am to 4:15pm each day.

12. Helms Christmas Tree Farm

For nearly half a century, Helms Christmas Tree Farm has welcomed families to choose and cut the ideal trees for their homes.
